Jaime Chavez Alor

Biography

Jaime Chavez Alor is Latin America Policy Director at the Cyrus R. Vance Center for International Justice of the New York City Bar Association and coordinates the Pro Bono Network of the Americas, the Lawyers Council for Civil and Economic Rights of the Americas, as well as other legal policy initiatives for Latin America. Before the Vance Center, Jaime served in the three branches of the Mexican federal government. He served as head of the Ethics, Public Integrity, and Conflict of Interest Prevention Unit in the Ministry of Public Administration and the Office of International Affairs and Attachés of the Office of the Attorney General. Before that, he was senior advisor to the Mexican senate and advisor to the Chief Minister of the Supreme Court of Justice. Jaime earned his Law degree from the Escuela Libre de Derecho in Mexico City and an LL.M from Columbia University in New York City.
