Biography

I am Global Head of Tax at Maples Group and advise international companies, investment funds and banks on Irish, EU and international tax. I am a founder, past Chair, member of the Executive Council and director of the Irish Debt Securities Association, the industry association representing the €1+ trillion Irish securitisation sector. I sit on both the Irish Government’s Business Tax Stakeholder Forum and OECD BEPS implementation committee, and we advocate on behalf of clients on tax developments with national and international authorities. I am also a member and past Chair of the Law Society of Ireland Tax Committee and past Chair of the International Fiscal Association, Irish branch. I am a frequent speaker at international tax conferences including the IBA, IFA and ABA. I was honoured to be named International Tax Author of the Year by Bloomberg and am author of the book Taxing Financial Transactions.
