Marie Lydie Bile-Aka

Biography

Marie Lydie BILE-AKA is a lawyer with more than 25 years of experience, both at national and international level. She is since 2014, the Secretary to the Sanctions Office, the African Development Bank administrative organ responsible for imposing sanctions on firms and individual found guilty of fraud, corruption, and other similar misconducts in the institution’s financed activities. Prior to this position, she performed within the institution in various capacities and in different departments, including the Legal Services Department, the Staff Appeal Committee, the General Secretariat, providing legal assistance with governance, corporate, human resources, disciplinary and litigation matters. In her country, Côte d’Ivoire, she worked both in the private sector, with the Law Firm Adjé-Assi-Métan and in the public sector, running the Cabinet of the Ministry of Economic Infrastructure, as Chief of staff. Ms. BILE-AKA holds a Maîtrise en Droit Privé from the University of Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, and a Master in International and Comparative Law (LL.M.) from The George Washington University, Washington, D.C. She is a Certified Fraud Examiner.
