Biography

I am an appellate and disputes lawyer. I work on complex constitutional, commercial and arbitral matters, particularly where the law is unsettled or the problem requires a broader view than a conventional specialist approach. I have always been something of a legal generalist. I enjoy going into unfamiliar areas, understanding the structure of the problem, and then taking it apart. That has taken me from constitutional litigation and privacy to commercial disputes, maritime law, taxation and arbitration. I also write and teach because they are really extensions of the same interest in how law works." does this work for a profile- changing the I to third person obviously.
