Shaneen Parikh
Biography
Shaneen is a Partner at Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas, Mumbai. She is dual qualified under Indian and English law. She is also an Advocate on Record, Supreme Court, and a Registered Foreign Lawyer of the Singapore International Commercial Court. With three decades of experience and a clear focus on international arbitration (commercial and investor-state disputes), and as also domestic arbitration, Shaneen has represented clients in foreign and Indian seated arbitrations under various institutional rules, as also in ad hoc arbitrations. Shaneen also has extensive experience in commercial litigation, having represented parties in various courts and tribunal across India, including the NCLT, High Courts and the Supreme Court of India. She has acted in a wide variety of disputes relating to commercial contracts, post M&A, infrastructure and construction projects, financial and structured products, etc. Her expertise lies in advising parties in respect of their dispute resolution strategy and representation in multi-forum and multi-jurisdictional disputes. Apart from her counsel work, Shaneen also sits as arbitrator in both domestic and international arbitrations. Shaneen is appointed as Vice Chair to the ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR, the Governing Board of ICCA, and on the Council of the Mumbai Centre for International Arbitration (MCIA). She is also ambassador of Asia Pacific Arbitration Group of the International Bar Association (IBA). She was a Member of the Court of Arbitration of the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) from 2018-2022. Shaneen was a Member, the Expert Committee for drafting of the institutional arbitration rules for the proposed International Arbitration Centre for the GIFT International Financial Services Centre, Gujarat, India, which issued its Expert Report in July 2024. Shaneen has been consistently ranked for her arbitration practice for several years, including the Lexology Index (formerly Who’s Who Legal), as a Global Elite Thought Leader (2025); Legal 500 (Dispute Resolution – Arbitration and Litigation); Chambers & Partners, the Global Guide and Asia-Pacific; Asia Law as a Distinguished Practitioner; and Benchmark Litigation as a Litigation Star’ and ‘Top 100 Women in Asia-Pacific.
