Elikem Benson
Biography
Elikem is an Associate at Sam Okudzeto & Associates, a leading law firm in Accra, Ghana. She specializes mainly in litigation, arbitration and negotiation in a range of commercial disputes including employment and industrial relations, insurance, banking and finance, debt recovery, trademarks and manufacturers’ liability. In 2024, Elikem was awarded the IBA Annual Conference Scholarship by the Private Client Tax Committee, in recognition of her thought-leadership on the practicalities of real estate investment in Ghana. She is currently the African Regional Forum Liaison Officer of the Young Lawyers’ Committee, where she works to strengthen opportunities and networks for young lawyers in Africa. Beyond the IBA, Elikem is actively engaged in several international arbitration networks. She is a member of Young ICCA (International Council for Commercial Arbitration), and of the Young International Arbitration Group of the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA). She also served as a Research Fellow at the Institute of African Women in Law (IAWL), reflecting her strong commitment to championing women’s leadership and participation in law and policy across Africa.
