Alipak Banerjee

Biography

Alipak is an independent counsel and founder of Alipak Banerjee Law Chambers, based in New Delhi, India. He focuses on international commercial and investment treaty arbitrations, commercial, regulatory and white-collar litigation, with a strong emphasis on complex, cross-border matters. He accepts arbitral appointments and is empanelled with several reputed international arbitral institutions. He was previously the head the International Dispute Resolution practice at Nishith Desai Associates, in New Delhi, and spent nearly 12 years at the firm. He has advised and represented clients in a wide range of legal issues, with a special focus on cross-border and complex litigation and international commercial arbitration. He has experience in representing clients in institutional arbitrations (SIAC, LCIA, ICC), investment treaty arbitrations, ad hoc arbitrations and litigation proceedings before the Supreme Court of India, Delhi High Court, various other forums in India. Alipak regularly speaks at conferences, has authored legal articles, which have been published in many leading newspapers and legal journals. He has assisted in editing the 6th edition of Redfern and Hunter on International Arbitration, Oxford University Press.
