Biography

I am a consultant at Phyleon Leadership and Governance, where I work with leaders and their organizations in times of transition—supporting transformation, leadership development, and deeper understanding of the dynamics that influence behavior, relationships, and decision-making. My approach is grounded in systems psychodynamics and shaped by years of experience in complex professional environments. Previously, I was a partner at Loyens & Loeff for over 20 years. Gradually, my focus shifted from the content of the work to the people doing it: how partners and teams function, how leadership evolves, and what it takes to support that. This led me to design and facilitate programmes aimed at strengthening leadership and collaboration within the partnership. Through that experience, my fascination for the psychodynamics of leadership and change grew, which brought me to INSEAD’s Executive Master in Change. Through this and other initiatives, I helped shape the firm’s leadership for the future. I also co-founded and chaired the firm’s Diversity Council. I serve on the Management Board of the International Bar Association (IBA). Over the years, I’ve held several leadership roles within the IBA, including Chair of the Legal Practice Division, Treasurer, and Chair of the Audit Committee. I also co-founded and chaired the IBA’s Diversity & Inclusion Council. I’ve lived and worked in New York, Milan, and Hong Kong, and bring a broad international perspective to my work. I hold a Master of Law (LL.M.) and a Master in the Social Sciences (MSc), focused on leadership and organizational change (INSEAD), completed the New Board Program at Nyenrode Business University, and am certified in Executive Coaching by VU Amsterdam. My research explores generational differences in international law firms, examining how unconscious dynamics influence collaboration, leadership, and the sustainability of the traditional partnership model.
