Biography
SCOTT LITTLE is the Executive Director and General Counsel of the Investment and Services Division (JLTB) of Canada’s Trade Law Bureau. Scott leads a team of legal counsel and paralegals responsible for representing the Government of Canada in all matters relating to its international investment and trade in services obligations, including the defence of investor-State arbitration claims commenced against Canada under its Free Trade Agreements and Foreign Investment Protection Agreements. Scott first joined the Trade Law Bureau in 2008, and in the decade prior to assuming the role of Executive Director he practiced exclusively in JLTB as case lead or senior counsel on some of Canada’s most significant ISDS claims, and as chief legal counsel or table lead counsel on a number of Canada’s major Free Trade Agreement negotiations. Scott teaches a course in international investment law as an adjunct professor at the Queen’s University Faculty of Law.
