Biography

Hao Wu is a Partner at Lifeng Partner and a member of the Tax and Customs Committee of the Shanghai Bar Association. She is qualified to practice law in the PRC. Hao obtained dual bachelor’s degrees in Law and English Language and Literature from Beijing Foreign Studies University, followed by an LLM from East China University of Political Science and Law and an Advanced LLM in International Tax Law from Leiden University. Her practice focuses on private wealth and tax matters. In the private wealth field, she advises high-net-worth families on asset protection, legal risk management, and succession planning, with extensive experience in structuring and restructuring family trusts under various jurisdictions, as well as in identity planning, cross-border inheritance, and family governance. She has assisted clients in establishing and reorganizing hundreds of family and charitable trusts governed by offshore, PRC, and U.S./Canadian trust laws. In the tax field, Hao provides tax planning and compliance advice for both enterprises and individuals. She regularly advises companies on outbound investment structures, tax treaty applications, transaction tax planning, and transfer pricing. She also advises high-net-worth individuals on tax residency planning, offshore structuring, CRS/FATCA compliance, family trust taxation, and anti-avoidance matters. Hao is frequently invited to lecture at leading universities such as East China University of Political Science and Law on private wealth planning and taxation. She has been recognized by LEGALBAND as one of China’s Top Lawyers in Tax (2025).
