Sanne Van Oers

Biography

On 1 September 2024, Sanne van Oers commenced her term of office as Bar President of the Netherlands Bar (NOvA) and hence president of the general council, together with Jeroen Soeteman. Within the general council, Van Oers is responsible for the role of the legal profession in the rule of law and access to justice. Van Oers has been a lawyer since 2003 and practices as a legal aid lawyer at Van Schie advocaten in Nijmegen. Her areas of expertise are juvenile law and psychiatric patient law. Prior to joining the general council of the Netherlands Bar in 2022, she was member of the board of representatives and member of the council of the local bar in Gelderland.
