Biography

Stephen Solursh is Senior Vice President and General Counsel and a member of the Executive Team at OPTrust, which is a pension plan and global investor based in Toronto, Canada. In his role, Stephen is responsible for internal and external legal advice on OPTrust’s world-wide investment activities, which include direct private equity, infrastructure, real estate and capital markets transactions. His team also includes the Office of the Corporate Secretary, the Investment Counsel Team, Corporate Governance, Procurement and Legal Operations. Prior joining OPTrust in 2017, Stephen was a Vice President at the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan where he managed the team of lawyers advising on Teachers’ global investments. Before moving in-house, Stephen spent over 10 years in private practice as a corporate, private equity and M&A lawyer at Weil Gotshal in New York and Osler in Toronto.
