Alejandra Rabasa
Biography
Alejandra Rabasa-Salinas is a Mexican Attorney with more than two decades of experience working on Environmental Law and Justice, Climate Justice, Human Rights, Judicial Education and scientific evidence for strategic environmental and climate litigation. She holds a Master’s degree in Sustainability Sciences from the National Autonomous University of Mexico, a Law degree from the Ibero American University in Mexico and a specialist degree in Evidentiary Reasoning from the University of Girona, Spain. She was legal advisor to the Undersecretary of Planning and Environmental Policy at Mexico’s Federal Ministry of the Environment and Natural Resources (SEMARNAT) and General Counsel of the Mexican National Commission of Natural Protected Areas. She was also director of the Judicial Education Program at the Environmental Law Institute in Washington, DC, and president of the Interdisciplinary Center for Biodiversity and Environment (CeIBA A.C.) in Mexico. Alejandra is a member of the Advisory Council of the Mexican Climate Initiative (ICM) and until August 31, 2025, she was the Head of the Scientific Evidence and Human Rights Unit at the Mexican Supreme Court of Justice.
