Ron Levi
Biography
Ron Levi is Distinguished Professor of Global Justice at the Munk School of Global Affairs & Public Policy and the Department of Sociology at the University of Toronto. He works on justice systems under stress, and legality during disrupted times. Ron directs the Global Justice Lab in the Munk School, and is a Permanent Visiting Professor at the University of Copenhagen in the Centre of Excellence for International Courts. Ron has served in a variety of academic leadership positions at the University of Toronto, including as Associate Director, Academic for the Munk School of Global Affairs & Public Policy, as the Director of Global Strategy for the Munk School, and as Senior Advisor on Graduate International Partnerships. He recently served as Chair of the Sociology of Law section of the American Sociological Association, and as Secretary of the Law and Society Association. He has been awarded the Ludwik and Estelle Jus Memorial Human Rights Prize, been Scholar-in-Residence for Holocaust Education Week, and as Chevalier in l'Ordre des Palmes Académiques by the French Government.
