Biography
Yoshifumi Onodera focuses on domestic and international dispute resolutions (infringement litigation, invalidity trials, and appellate litigation), arbitration, and licensing in relation to intellectual property, including patents, trademarks, and copyright. His experience in these areas covers a wide variety of industries, including semiconductors, telecommunications, biotechnologies, pharmaceuticals, software, and game software. He has handled many IP-related matters involving China, India, and ASEAN countries, such as administrative regulations, objections, litigation, and licensing related to counterfeit products and trademarks and patents registered through misappropriated applications. Not only as the Partner of firm’s Tokyo Office, but also as the Representative Partner of firm’s Beijing Office (since 2014 to 2020) and the Exclusive Director of Mori Hamada &Matsumoto Intellectual Property (Beijing) Company Limited (since 2020), he provides services both from the Tokyo Office and the Beijing Office by frequently traveling between these two bases, utilizing his sophisticated knowledge of actual practices in China.
