Biography

Ms. Shafaq Uraizee Sapre is the Managing Partner of the Mumbai office of C&M, one of India’s fastest-growing full-service law firms. With over 25 years of experience, she advises Indian and international clients on complex domestic and cross-border transactions, with a particular focus on delivering integrated legal and strategic solutions across multiple jurisdictions. Her practice encompasses Mergers & Acquisitions, Joint Ventures, Private Equity, technology and strategic collaborations, carve-outs, establishment of operations in India, Data Centres, Global Capability Centres (GCCs), and general corporate and commercial matters. She has extensive experience advising Indian and multinational clients on the structuring, negotiation and implementation of joint ventures, technology collaborations and strategic alliances, including navigating the Indian legal, regulatory and foreign investment framework. Shafaq is regularly recognised for her expertise and leadership in the Indian legal market. She has been recognised by Forbes as one of India’s Top 100 Lawyers in 2025 and 2026, and by Asian Legal Business (ALB) among the Top 30 Female Lawyers in India in 2023 and 2024. She has also been recognised by Legal 500, and by Legal Era as Star Women Lawyer of the Year and Leading Lawyer – Corporate M&A (2024).
