Biography
Professor Damilola S. Olawuyi (SAN) is Chair, Academic Advisory Group (AAG), IBA Section on Energy, Environment, Natural Resources and Infrastructure Law (SEERIL). He is a Professor and UNESCO Chair on Environmental Law and Sustainable Development at the Hamad Bin Khalifa University in Qatar. He is also an Independent Expert on the United Nations Working Group on Business and Human Rights. Professor Olawuyi has published extensively in the fields of natural resources, energy, environment, arbitration and business and human rights law, with a focus on Africa and the Middle East. His recent book publication Environmental Law in Arab States (Oxford University Press, 2022) received the 2023 American Society of International Law (ASIL) Certificate of Merit for High Technical Craftmanship and Utility to Practicing Lawyers. He is a regular expert and media commentator on natural resources, energy and environmental disputes. He provides legal services as Senior Counsel at McNair International.
