Biography

Edie Hofmeister is an accomplished legal executive with extensive expertise in governance, cross-border transactions, mergers and acquisitions, LATAM business, due diligence, risk management, anti-corruption, and legal compliance. As the first employee of Tahoe Resources, Ms. Hofmeister played a pivotal role in its transformation from a junior exploration company into a leading precious metals producer, home to the world’s third largest minable silver deposit. Over nine years, she served as Tahoe’s Executive Vice President of Corporate Affairs and General Counsel, overseeing the Legal, HR, Sustainability, and Government Affairs departments. Her leadership contributed to Tahoe’s receipt of Best Governance Award (mid-cap mining) from the Canadian Society of Corporate Secretaries. In 2017, she was a finalist for Best Canadian General Counsel in ESG. Since 2006, Ms. Hofmeister has worked closely with rural and indigenous communities in India, Peru, Guatemala, Mexico, and Canada to advance food, work, and water security. She joined the IBA’s Business and Human Rights Committee (formerly CSR) in 2012 and chaired the committee from 2023 to 2025. A frequent writer and speaker, she focuses on corporate implementation of the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, promoting respect for human rights and environmental responsibility in business. Following Tahoe’s acquisition by Pan American Silver, Ms. Hofmeister became a full-time Non-Executive Director for four public companies in metals mining, vertically integrated bitcoin mining, and the energization of High Performance Computing and AI data centers. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from UCLA, a Master of Arts in International Peace Studies from the University of Notre Dame, and a Juris Doctor from the University of San Francisco.
