Karin Kuhl
Biography
Karin Kuhl, a German lawyer with a Master's degree in European Law from the University of Exeter, has been an integral part of the EUIPO since joining the organization in 2000. Initially, Karin worked as a trade mark examiner and IP legal adviser, providing guidance on various aspects of IP law. In 2011, she transitioned into managerial tasks and continued contributing to the successful growth of the organization. In 2015, she was appointed Programme Manager for implementing a new back-office system for the trade mark proceedings, ensuring the smooth transition and efficiency of these processes. From 2016 to recently, Karin took on the role of the Director of the Operations Department at the EUIPO, overseeing all areas of trade mark and design examination. Since July 2024, she is Director of the EUIPO Mediation Centre, where she leads efforts to resolve IP disputes through alternative dispute resolution methods. She is an CEDR accredited mediator.
