Biography

Walter Trezek has been recognized by the Federal Republic of Austria as a High-Level Figure in the Postal Sector, he is the Chairman of the Consultative Committee (CC) of the Universal Postal Union. He is an appointed expert to the European Commission (Freight & Logistics, VAT, Customs, Postal Market). In the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) he chairs harmonization of the digitalization and quality of service of postal and express innovative logistics services and is actively involved as experts and Head of Delegation of the Austrian Standards Institute (ASI) in global standardization (UPU, ISO, ETSI). His consultancy, under the brand “CLS / Commerce Logistics Services” advises a broad range of stakeholders in the commerce & logistics industry, such as EU4DIGITAL, GIZ & CEFTA and postal and express operators in Europe, Africa, the Americas and Asia, on how best to use data available in advance of shipping to enhance compliance in transport security and product safety, to comply with customs requirements and import duties, as well as waste prevention, circular economy and sustainability goals.
