Michael O'Mara
Biography
Michael O’Mara is a Partner at Axinn LLP, where he represents clients in all areas of antitrust law, including guiding clients to successful results and resolutions of high-value global merger control matters and high-stakes litigations, agency investigations, and arbitrations. Michael has successfully represented clients before the U.S. Department of Justice, Federal Trade Commission, and competition regulators in Europe, China, Korea, Japan, India, and many other jurisdictions. His comprehensive understanding of global regulatory frameworks helps clients seamlessly navigate complex legal landscapes. Michael’s recent experience includes advising Worldpay in its $24.5 billion acquisition by Global Payments and McKesson in its $2.49 billion acquisition of a controlling interest in Florida Cancer Specialists’ Core Ventures and defending Tyson Foods in antitrust class action and direct-action litigations alleging conspiracies to fix chicken prices and multiple PVC manufacturers in an antitrust class action alleging a conspiracy to fix the price of PVC pipe. Michael is a frequent contributor to industry publications like IAM Media, Law360, and Global Competition Review. He was recognized by Lawdragon among the 500 Leading Dealmakers in America (2026) and 500 Leading Global Antitrust & Competition Lawyers (2025–2026) and has also been recognized by Best Lawyers and Super Lawyers.
