Biography

Melanie Sanchez is Global General Counsel, Investments of the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan. Melanie originally worked in the Toronto office of the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan before relocating to the London office in 2017 where she manages the global team of lawyers that support the investment business of OTPP. Prior to that, she was a partner at Canadian law firm Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP and started out her career as an associate at Clayton Utz, an Australian law firm. Melanie is qualified to practise law in both Australia and Canada and in addition to being a lawyer, she holds a honours degree in Finance from the University of Technology, Sydney.
