Biography

I am proud to lead MD Communications, an energetic, purpose-driven PR and brand consultancy for professional services firms worldwide. As Founder and CEO, I set out in 2010 to build a business where communications doesn’t just protect and promote reputation, but actively drives change. That ethos runs through everything we do. I’ve built a senior team of advisers spanning the full spectrum of strategic communications, partnering with clients locally and globally to deliver work that is both commercially impactful and values-led. After more than 21 years in the sector, I have built a trusted network that drives referrals, relationships and growth. I am a natural connector and have created influential networks and private forums, particularly focused on advancing women in the legal sector. This work was recognised at the Women and Diversity in Law Awards in 2023, and in 2026 we are shortlisted for both Business Leader of the Year and Supplier of the Year. Alongside my professional work, I am an active campaigner for my disabled daughter Jessica and for families navigating the SEND system. That experience has sharpened my perspective on advocacy, resilience and the power of communications to challenge systems, influence policy and give a voice to those too often unheard. It informs how I lead, advise and build campaigns. Purpose also means giving back. We work pro bono with organisations including the InterLaw Diversity Forum, Neurodiversity in Business, the IBA 50/50 by 2030 project, Infertility in the City, and Only Mums & Dads. Together with my partner James Hayhurst, I co-founded Parents Promise, supporting children’s wellbeing during and after parental separation. I am a regular speaker at legal and International Bar Association conferences and serve on a number of IBA committees, including the Law Firm Management Committee, the European Regional Forum and the Global Mental Wellbeing Taskforce. We also support the American Bar Association’s Transnational Legal Practice Committee. Before founding MD Communications, I was Head of Media and PR at the Law Society, helping bring a more campaign-led approach to the organisation and the profession. Today, I advise on high-stakes crisis situations, support leadership teams with personal brand and positioning, and help firms build internal capability for sustainable growth. That experience underpins MD Communications today: a consultancy known for combining strategic clarity, strong networks and campaign-led execution to deliver meaningful, measurable impact.
