Renato Guerrieri

Biography

Renato Guerrieri is a Senior Associate at Uruguayan firm Guyer & Regules, in the Competition/Antitrust team, and a member of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee. He currently serves as Website Officer (and former LARF Liaison Officer) for the LGBTQI+ Law Committee at the International Bar Association (IBA). His practice focuses on providing legal counsel to companies in: administrative proceedings and litigation related to competition/antitrust and unfair competition law; investigations of cartels, market dominance, and anticompetitive practices; merger control; drafting and reviewing contracts, commercial policies, protocols, and antitrust best practices manuals; antitrust due diligence and audits; dawn raid simulations; antitrust compliance; and client training. He also participates in projects and initiatives related to D&I (with an emphasis on LGBTQI+ rights), including coordinating the Blind Acting Project, and pro bono work. Top 20 Outstanding Role Models Future Leaders by INvolve and YouTube (2025), Winner of the IBA European Regional Forum Scholarship (2023), and Finalist for the Chambers & Partners Latam Awards Future Leader D&I Award (2024 and 2026). He was part of the Guyer & Regules team that won Latin Lawyer's "Deal of the Year" award in 2021, 2022, and 2023, GCR's "Merger Control of the Year" award in 2025, and recognition from DERES in 2023, 2024, and 2025. He has participated in numerous international conferences (IBA, ABA, IBRAC, ForoCompetencia, etc.) and is the author of several national and international publications, including serving on the Editorial Committee of the Competition Law Yearbook (since 2023). He graduated from the University of the Republic (2014) with an LL.M. Master's degree from the University of Montevideo (2016), competition defense program at London School of Economics (2016), diploma in political economy at CED/Konrad-Adenauer (2021), and Structural Issues in Law Firm Management program at Fordham University and Mattos Filho (2025).
