Eleonora Scala
Biography
Eleonora Scala is a human rights lawyer, leading the International Bar Association’s Human Rights Institute's work on the independence and protection of the legal profession and the judiciary. She engages in litigation, fact-finding, capacity-building, and targeted advocacy to strengthen the rule of law and support those who uphold it. Her work also encompasses prevention, protection and accountability for crimes against vulnerable groups, especially children and victims-survivors of gender-based violence. A qualified lawyer in Italy, she previously practised at a leading Milan firm and held legal roles at the United Nations in New York and Vienna.
