Biography

Marcelo is Assistant General Counsel at Vale (world's largest iron ore mining company), having previously served for over fifteen years as a federal prosecutor in Brazil and spent a significant period as a partner at one of Brazil's largest law firms. He is recognized for his work on complex, multidisciplinary, and international matters involving both litigation and negotiations. He maintains an active academic career as a postdoctoral fellow, professor, and researcher, focusing on the law of evidence, litigation, enforcement-related agreements, and anti-corruption issues.
