Florian Horn
Biography
Florian Horn is an advocat registered at the bar of Vienna, Austria, after his bar exam with honors in 2010. At the bar he is also elected as disciplinary judge. His professional expertise focuses on dispute resolution and mediation in particular in corporate, investment and IP cases. He excels in developing comprehensive strategies in complex cases with an economic background, but is also using his forensic experience for advice on professional contracts and extra-judicial negotiations. His engagements in civil society includes a position on the board of the Austrian League for Human Right, where he coordinates the UPR-process in the context of the UN Human Rights Council. This engagement complements a second focus on procedures with an administrative and constitutional background up to the level of the Austrian Constitutional Court. His academic formation includes academic grades in law at the University of Vienna and in business administration with a focus on information management and SMEs at the Vienna University of Economics and Business. Since his early years in his formation he was also able to get international experience in law studies at the University of Southampton, UK, and as assistant at the International Court of Justice in the Hague, Netherlands. Florian used to work as counsel for the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of European Law and in a study for the European Parliament. Already as a senior student, quite a view years ago, he taught a class of micro and macro economics at the Vienna University of Economics and Business. He continues teaching at the University of Vienna on the graduate and post-graduate level and is elected examiner for the Austrian bar exam. He is author and/or editor of numerous publications in particular on Austrian and European civil procedure rules, conflict of laws, and national and international protection of human rights.
