Biography

Ashish leads the Debt & Special Situations practice at Grant Thornton in India. He is a Chartered Accountant and qualified Insolvency Professional with over 27 years of professional experience. He has substantial experience restructuring companies in financial distress and managing insolvent companies on behalf of stakeholders. Ashish has led engagements across India on behalf of several large lending institutions, credit funds and ARCs such as SBI; PNB, Union Bank; ARCIL, NARCL and Edelweiss. Some of the large cases handled by Ashish include Jet Airways, IL&FS; Essar Steel; Monnet Ispat and Sintex BAPL. His sector experience includes industry verticals such as aviation, metals & mining; energy; banking, manufacturing, healthcare and real estate & infrastructure. Ashish is a member of Insol International and Exec Committee of INSOL India and various expert committees on stressed assets resolution including FICCI, CII and ICC.
