Meng Su
Biography
Meng Su specializes in legal services in the areas of project finance, acquisition finance, syndicated lending, real estate finance, establishment of financial institutions, and derivatives trading platforms. She has advised numerous domestic and international syndicated lenders, commercial banks, joint ventures, and project companies on a wide range of project financing transactions, covering sectors such as hydropower, wind energy, nuclear power, biomass energy, oil and gas, chemical engineering, and manufacturing. She has substantial experience in cross-border acquisition finance and real estate finance, and has provided legal services to various policy banks, commercial banks, and project entities. Meng Su serves as legal counsel to key financial market infrastructure institutions, such as the Shanghai Gold Exchange, China Foreign Exchange Trade System, China Financial Futures Exchange, Shanghai Futures Exchange, and Shanghai International Energy Exchange. Her work includes advising on cross-border exchange collaborations, comprehensive rulebook revisions, standard documentation drafting, and issuance of formal legal opinions. Meng Su was repeatedly recognised as a “Highly Recommended Lawyer” in banking and finance by Legal 500 and as a “Highly Recommended Lawyer” in banking and project finance by IFLR1000 multiple times. Meng Su joined the Beijing office of King & Wood Mallesons in 2006 and transferred to the Shanghai office in 2013. She holds an LL.B. from the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE), an LL.M. from the University of Sheffield, and a Common Professional Examination (CPE) certificate from the University of Sussex. Meng Su is qualified to practice law in the People’s Republic of China. She works in both Chinese and English.
