Biography

Sam Cooper Rivera is TPG’s Deputy General Counsel, Head of Capital Formation and TPG's Co-Head of Strategic Partnerships within TPG’s Client and Capital Formation group. Sam is responsible for legal matters related to TPG’s fundraising efforts and ongoing operations of TPG’s private funds across TPG’s various asset classes, as well as the creation of strategic partnership initiatives. Prior to joining TPG, Sam worked at D. E. Shaw as an investment products attorney. Sam began her career in the Private Funds group of Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton in New York, where she focused on the organization and operation of private funds for large sponsors, including TPG.
