Biography
Kenneth Rosh is the chairman of Fried Frank and of the firm’s Governance Committee. As co-head of the firm’s Asset Management and Private Equity Funds Groups, he fully maintains his active practice, representing major sponsors in a broad range of corporate and securities transactions, with a focus on private equity fund formation counseling, investments, acquisitions and secondary transactions, securities and capital markets and general corporate matters.
A partial list of Ken’s clients includes Apollo, Bain Capital, Brookfield, Cerberus, Fortress, Goldman Sachs, HPS (now Private Financing Solutions at BlackRock), KKR, Morgan Stanley, Permira, RedBird, Sixth Street, StepStone, and TPG.
Ken is consistently recognized in Chambers USA (Band 1) and Chambers Global (Band 1) for Private Equity Fund Formation, in Legal 500 (Hall of Fame, Leading Lawyer) in Investment Fund Formation and Management: Private Equity Funds, and is recognized by Who’s Who Legal as a Thought Leader for Private Funds. Additionally, he is a two-time recipient of Law360's Fund Formation MVP of the Year award. Fried Frank’s Asset Management Practice has been recognized as a Law360 Practice Group of the Year (Fund Formation) in 2024, as well as the prior five years.
He is a member of the New York City Bar Association Private Investment Funds Committee, a longtime member (and a former co-chair) of the Private Investment Funds Forum, a member of the American Bar Association Committee on Private Investment Funds, and a member of the International Bar Association (IBA), where he is currently serving as the Chair of the Organizing Committee of the Annual International Conference on Private Investment Funds.
Ken serves on the Board of Advisors of the Tufts University School of Arts & Sciences. He serves on the Board of Directors of DREAM (formerly Harlem RBI), a nonprofit youth development and educational program serving more than 2,500 youth in East Harlem and the South Bronx, after serving for eight years as board chairman. Ken is a past recipient of the Legal Aid Society's Pro Bono Publico Award.
Ken received his JD in 1988 from the Boston University School of Law, where he was a G. Joseph Tauro Distinguished Scholar and editor-in-chief of the Annual Review of Banking Law, and his BA in 1985 from Tufts University. He is admitted to the bar in New York.
