Petr Bříza

Biography

Petr Bříza is a founding partner of Bříza & Trubač and an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Law of Charles University in Prague. He specialises in international arbitration, cross-border disputes, and EU law, combining extensive practice with academic expertise in private international law. He has represented clients and acted in proceedings before leading arbitral institutions, including the ICC, LCIA, PCA, DIS, and ICSID, as well as before EU courts. In addition to counsel work, he has served as an arbitrator in almost 80 international and domestic cases, frequently acting as sole arbitrator or chair. He is a member of the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague and serves on the Commission on International Arbitration of the ICC Czech Republic. His professional experience is complemented by earlier roles at the Czech Ministry of Justice, where he was involved in EU legislative processes and international legal coordination. He is also active in legal practice as an expert and arbitrator in complex cross-border disputes.
