Asghar Leghari
Biography
Asghar Leghari is a legal counsel practicing in Pakistan and a Founding Partner at PrimeLegalCo., Advocates & Corporate Counsel. Asghar started his career as a transactional lawyer focusing on projects and infrastructure finance in the energy sector. Thereafter he transitioned primarily into litigation, where also gained considerable experience representing clients in contentious matters before the courts and administrative authorities. Asghar has been involved in various areas of law, including constitutional and environmental law, and has been a part of various key initiatives. In a pro bono matter before the Lahore High Court, he has also successfully challenged the inaction of the Federal and Provincial Government against climate change, leading to the creation of the Climate Change Commission. In 2024, Asghar was Climate Fellow at Yale University’s Emerging Climate Leaders Fellowship.
