Biography

Partner Life Sciences and Healthcare Joana Silveira Botelho specializes in the pharmaceutical and medical device sectors. She advises on the life cycle of medicinal products, including R&D, clinical trials, authorization, manufacturing, price and reimbursement, commercialization, distribution and promotion. She regularly provides corporate legal assistance to pharmaceutical and medical device companies, and other life sciences companies, such as hospitals and foundations. She is an expert in (i) clinical trial agreements, manufacturing and supply contracts, (ii) license agreements, and (iii) distribution and joint promotion agreements. She often advises on regulatory procedures, pricing and reimbursement procedures, codes of ethics, discount systems, materials and promotional activities, product liability, product recall and data protection. She also provides legal assistance to biotechnology projects and startups. Before joining Cuatrecasas, she worked at another Portuguese law firm. She is a member of the Portuguese Bar Association.
