Francesco Anglani
Biography
Francesco Anglani is a Partner based in Rome and a leading figure in European and Italian competition law, widely recognised for his exceptional expertise in antitrust and regulatory matters. He advises prominent domestic and international clients across a broad spectrum of complex competition issues, including investigations before the European Commission and national authorities, abuse of dominance, restrictive practices, and high-stakes litigation before European and national courts. A trusted advisor to multinational groups, he has developed particular strength in the design and implementation of distribution systems, providing strategic antitrust and compliance advice across multiple jurisdictions. His practice combines technical excellence with a strong commercial understanding, enabling clients to navigate regulatory challenges while supporting their growth strategies in increasingly scrutinised markets. Alongside his antitrust leadership, Francesco Anglani is at the forefront of the firm’s positioning in the luxury sector, where he serves as Team Leader of the Luxury Focus Team. His work spans the full spectrum of legal issues affecting the industry, with a distinctive focus on the intersection between competition law, selective distribution models, brand protection and evolving regulatory frameworks. This positioning has recently received significant international recognition. At the prestigious Luxury Law Summit held in London, the firm was awarded Luxury Law Firm of the Year – Independent Law Firm. On the same occasion, Francesco Anglani was individually recognised as Highly Commended in the Partner of the Year category, reflecting both his technical excellence and his strategic contribution to the development of a market-leading luxury practice. He is consistently ranked by leading international legal directories, including Chambers & Partners and The Legal 500 EMEA, as a leading expert in antitrust law in Italy, with clients highlighting his deep technical knowledge and ability to deliver top-quality service on the most complex matters. In addition to his advisory work, Francesco Anglani plays an active role in the broader competition law community, serving as General Secretary of the Italian Antitrust Association and regularly speaking at international conferences and seminars on EU and competition law. He combines his professional practice with strong academic credentials, including a PhD in comparative business and EU law and an LL.M. from King’s College London.
