Géraldine Stalder

Biography

Géraldine Stadler has served as Chief Legal Officer and member of the Executive Leadership Team at Audemars Piguet since 2023. She leads a global legal team and oversees all legal, regulatory and compliance matters across the business. In close collaboration with the Executive team, she helps guide strategy, manage risk and uphold the company’s values and operations worldwide. Swiss and French, Géraldine was born and raised in Switzerland, with formative years spent in the Philippines – an experience that nurtured her curiosity for people and cultures. After earning her law degree from the University of Lausanne and completing a master’s in business law in Geneva, she trained at Nestlé before passing the bar in 2006. She began her career in a law firm, focusing on corporate and commercial law, before transitioning to in-house counsel for its proximity to the business and long-term impact. Géraldine joined Audemars Piguet in 2011 as Legal Counsel. In 2016, she relocated to Singapore with her family to take on a regional legal role – a formative chapter that strengthened her connection with the company’s global business. Upon returning to Switzerland, she continued to grow within the company, ultimately assuming leadership of the legal department. In her current role, Géraldine has led a transformation of the legal function, establishing six centres of expertise across key areas: intellectual property, general affairs, commercial and digital, markets, compliance and data privacy. Her vision is to position Legal as a responsive, collaborative and forward-thinking partner to the business. Under her leadership, the department has expanded and adopted new tools, processes and structures to ensure agility, efficiency and proximity to AP’s teams worldwide. Géraldine’s leadership is inclusive and empowering. She values collaboration and trusts the deep expertise within her team. A dedicated professional and proud mother of twin daughters, she continues to find inspiration in the world of watchmaking. “The day I trained with one of the AP museum guides,” she recalls, “she told me that when you wear a mechanical watch, you wear the universe on your wrist. That’s when I knew – this is where I belong.”
