Biography

Justice Linda Chan was appointed as a Judge of the Court of First Instance of the High Court in December 2019, and has since August 2021 been in charge of the Companies and Bankruptcy List. Justice Chan obtained a degree in business administration and worked in the commercial sector for 5 years before being called to the Bar of England and Wales and the Hong Kong Bar in 1996. She obtained a Master of Laws in 1998. She was in private practice from 1998 and was appointed as Senior Council in 2011. Whilst in private practice, she mainly practised in commercial, companies and insolvency matters. Justice Chan was appointed as Deputy Judge of the Court of First Instance in 2013 and 2014, and Recorder of the Court of First Instance from 2015 until her appointment to the bench in 2019.
