Biography

Dirk Bliesener acts on regulatory and strategic matters for financial institutions, investors and governments. He advised on both German bad bank transactions and is frequently involved in M&A in the financial sector in Europe and regulatory proceedings before German and EU regulatory authorities. Dirk also represents banks, corporates, investors and public authorities on a wide range of debt capital markets transactions. He is a frequent speaker in international and German policy discussions. Dirk Bliesener served as managing partner of Hengeler Mueller from 2014 to 2018. Dirk is admitted to the German and New York bars and holds degrees from Hamburg University, Yale Law School, Université de Paris Panthéon-Sorbonne and Sciences Po (IEP) de Paris.
