Biography

Competition partner at Morais Leitão active in several jurisdictions (EU, Portugal, Angola and Mozambique). Practice focuses on advising and representing clients on all fields of competition law (antitrust investigations, merger control, State aid, private enforcement and competition compliance), foreign investment and foreign subsidies control, as well as on EU law. Leads the firm’s competition practice in Portuguese-speaking African countries and has extensive experience before the Competition Regulatory Authorities of Angola and Mozambique. Also regularly appears before the Portuguese Competition Authority and the European Commission, as well as in litigation before the Portuguese and European Union courts. Past President of the U.A.E. - European Lawyers' Union (2020-2022), currently the Secretary General of the APDE - Portuguese Association of Europeu Law (member for Portugal of FIDE); seconded to Latham & Watkins in Washington, DC in 2007. Lectures and writes regularly on competition law and is recommended as a leading competition lawyer by Chambers Europe, Legal 500, Lexology (former Who's Who Legal: Competition), and Best Lawyers.
