Biography

Alexander Ritvay is one of the two Managing Partners of Noerr LLP and a leading M&A practitioner in Germany with extensive experience in high-end projects both domestically and internationally. On leave from the firm in the years 2000 – 2003 Alexander was Head of M&A and Group General Counsel at KirchGruppe, Munich, in its time one of Europe’s biggest enter-tainments groups, then Chairman and director of the Formula One Group of companies and later Head of Sports, KirchMedia, Munich. From 2004-05 he served as Chairman of Odeon Cinemas Ltd., London (UK), and, inter alia, as a member of the board of Swan Capital, the holding company for the Mid Kent water utility south of London. A graduate from the University of Augsburg, he worked as a research assistant at the Graduate Institute of International Studies in Geneva, obtained the Diplôme d’études supéri-eures from the University of Geneva and received his Ph.D. (doctor iuris) from the Friedrich-Schiller-University Jena. He is admitted to the Bar of Berlin.
