Biography

Juan Carlos Lorenzo is a Managing Director and Head of Latin America DCM at Jefferies.

Over 30 years of experience in investment banking focused on leveraged finance and debt capital markets in the United States and Latin America Joined Jefferies in September 2019 to assume the role of Head of Latin America DCM.

Prior to joining Jefferies, Mr. Lorenzo spent 12 years at Goldman Sachs in various capacities including as Managing Director and Head of Latin America DCM. 

Mr. Lorenzo also spent 9 years at Citi in corporate and leveraged finance in the United States, and 6 years at Chase and BankBoston in corporate finance in Latin America. During his extensive career, Mr. Lorenzo has originated and led the execution of leveraged finance and debt capital markets transactions in the United States and Latin America including multiple acquisition financings, pre-IPO and early-stage financings, project financings and high-yield and investment-grade bonds.

In addition, Mr. Lorenzo has been involved in multiple debt restructuring engagements in Latin America and currently leads Jefferies’s debt advisory practice in Latin America.

Mr. Lorenzo holds an MBA in International Management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management and a BA in Finance and Marketing from the University of Oregon.
