Biography

Saroj K Ghimire is an Advocate at Supreme Court of Nepal and Asst Prof of Law at Tribhuvan University. He holds dual LL.M from UK and India and elected Executive member of LAWASIA. He is also the Joint Coordinator for International Relation Commitee of Nepal Association. Ghimire practices in the various areas of law including constitution, human rights, telecom, aviation, hydroelectricity, financial law and project financing, arbitration and data protection at the Supreme Court of Nepal and advises on complex commercial matters including arbitration. Mr Ghimire has appeared at the largest bench ever formed in the Supreme Court (19 justices) and has conducted DDR for the largest acquisition of telecom company in Nepal. He has also appeared in high profile criminal cases, financial crimes and has filed PIL at the Supreme Court in which Supreme Court has made landmark judgements. Mr Ghimire has advised on constitutional matters to governmental agencies, provincial government and has conducted trainings to to the justices, lawyers, academician in various areas of law for Nepal Bar Association, Nepal Bar Council, National Judicial Academy, National Judicial Service Commission, Nepal Police Academy to name few. He has also attended various professional courses at Switzerland, Thailand, Myanmar, China, Sweden and UK. He has been the Speaker in IBA annual Conference at Sydney, Seoul, Miami, Paris and Mexico and also speaking at the Toronto. He has been the Speaker at the LAWASIA conferences at Delhi, Sydney, Bangalore, Hongkong, Kuala Lumpur apart to Law Society of China's conference China, Asia Pro bono Conference at Laos, Kathmandu, Philippines, ASEAN Conference at China, UN South Asia Forum on Business and Human Rights at Thailand and various other national and international conference. Me Ghimire frequently writes in the law journals and has been interviewed by national and international newspapers and has delivered Guest Lectures in China, UK, USA and India, Mr Ghimire is the Managing Partner of Himalayan Lawyers & Associates, a Kathmandu based law firm which provides legal consultancy and litigation services in various areas of law for local and international clients.
