Olufunmi Oluyede

Biography

Olori (Queen) Olufunmi Oluyede (whose formative years and early education took place in London, UK) is a member of the distinguished Honorable Body of Benchers (the highest regulatory organ of the legal profession) in Nigeria. A US-based transnational commercial attorney of high repute, she is one of the pioneer/founding partners of TRLPLAW Solicitors & Advocates (a prestigious international commercial law firm) where she provides over 37 years legal insight and expertise across a range of industries, to the firm’s most prominent clientele globally. A passionate women/human rights activist and prolific, erudite speaker, Olufunmi speaks regularly at global conferences and seasonally organizes widely acclaimed international conferences at the United Nations and internationally, in collaboration with her universal network of humanitarian organizations. Past member of Council of the Legal Practice Division of the International Bar Association (IBA) and of the IBA Nominations Committee, Olori Oluyede serves at present on the Advisory Board of the newly established IBA Council Constitution and Governance Committee; as Vice Chair of the IBA Diversity and Inclusion Council and on the Advisory Boards of the IBA Women Lawyers Committee and the IBA African Regional Forum, which she had chaired hitherto. As a distinguished member of both the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) and the American Bar Association International Law Section (ABA ILS), Olufunmi fervently facilitated the emergence of the existing memorandum of cooperation between these two associations in 2019.She has since held various high-ranking offices in both organizations over the years. Olori Oluyede is a life fellow of the American Bar Foundation (ABF) and the Foundation’s Ambassador to the ABA ILS. She is also Secretary-General of the Geneva-based International Alliance of Women; Life-Member and immediate past Chair of the Editorial Board of Federación Internacional de Abogadas (FIDA) INT’L.; currently FIDA INT’L Regional Vice President for North America; past National/Country President, FIDA USA; member, National Executive Council, FIDA Nigeria and past Chair FIDA Lagos. Concurrently she serves as Director, Country Representative (U.S.A) and United Nations Representative to the African Women Lawyers Association (AWLA). Olori Olufunmi Oluyede has been happily married for 41 years (with children and grandchildren) to HRM Oba Raphael Ajibola Oluyede, legal luminary, entrepreneur and the reigning monarch of the Ayede-Ogbese kingdom in Ondo State, Nigeria.
