Eduardo Sanguinetti

Biography

Eduardo Sanguinetti is one of the founders of the firm. He has extensive experience in all aspects of corporate and commercial law, including capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, project finance, high technology and foreign investment, and has a strong international presence as adviser of foreign multinationals operating in our country. He began his career in Ferrere Law Firm in 1992. He has represented international clients in a wide range of transactions in the forestry, technology, agribusiness and hotel industries. He also has vast experience in project finance. He participated with the Executive Branch in the process regarding the amendments in the area of concessions and guarantee mechanisms that facilitate the financing of concession projects. He has published numerous articles of interest and participated as a speaker at numerous conferences on issues regarding market and bonds, foreign trade, investment projects and corporate governance. He is an active member of the International Bar Association and the Inter-American Bar Association in his capacity as officer of the Latin American Regional Forum since 2007. In January 2011, he was appointed as a member of the Advisory Council of the Forum. In 2013 he was elected co-chair of the IBA Regional Fora Coordination Committee. In January 2017, he was appointed as a member of the Legal Practice Division (LPD) Counsel of the IBA for the period 1 January 2017 to 31 December 2020 and counsel of such forum with liaison with the Latin American Regional Forum. In 2021 he was appointed to SPPI Council. He is a former professor of international business law at ORT University and of capital markets in the master's programme in finance at the same university. He is co-author of the book Ley de Mercado de Valores y Obligaciones Negociables. He is a founder member of the Georgetown University Law Center Latin American Alumni Advisory Board since 2014. He is a member of the American Bar Association and the International Affairs Committee of the Bar Association of Uruguay.
