Biography

Matthijs ("Matt") is a partner in Stibbe's litigation practice in Amsterdam. Our litigation practice is ranked Tier 1 in all leading directories and one of the largest litigation practices in The Netherlands. Matthijs focuses on litigating - primarily as a defense counsel - and arbitrating M&A related disputes, directors' and officers' liability, antitrust damages claims and complex (cross border) contractual disputes in general. He also had experience in litigating matters related to complex financial products. During his career, Matthijs practiced in The Netherlands and London and was associated with a major US firm in New York in 2006-2007.
