Biography

Peter Etzbach is a partner of Oppenhoff in Cologne, Germany, and heads the Corporate / M&A Department as well as the insurance industry division. He focuses his practice on the insurance and financial services industry and advises on cross-border M&A transactions, joint ventures and restructurings as well as on their financing. Peter has particular expertise in corporate law, insurance and reinsurance law, finance, capital markets as well as insurance supervision. In addition, he is advising on venture capital matters including regarding InsurTech companies. He started his career at Weil Gotshal & Manges LLP in Frankfurt in 2002. From 2004 to 2007 he was a managing associate at Oppenhoff & Rädler/Linklaters LLP before joining Oppenhoff in 2008. Peter studied law at the University of Cologne (Dr. iur.) and Fordham University School of Law, New York (LL.M.). He is also admitted to the New York Bar.
