Gerd D Goyvaerts
Biography
Gerd is a partner at Tiberghien. He is mainly occupied with tax aspects of the professional and private assets of the Belgian entrepreneur and wealthy private HNWI, (international) corporate and estate planning, inheritance tax, estate planning and migration to and from Belgium of private individuals and companies. Gerd developed a special interest in tax matters concerning Anglo-Saxon trusts and foundations, with a special focus on the application of the caiman tax, fiscal regularisations and money laundering prevention. He regularly speaks at (inter) national seminars. He is also the author of several publications on taxation in leading journals such as 'Journal of Fiscal Law' and 'Fiscal News', 'Journal of International Tax, Trust and Corporate Planning' and 'Estate Planning in Practice'. Gerd is a member of the International Bar Association (IBA) where he is a member of the IBA Anti-Money Laundering Action Group, as well as an officer of the IBA Private client committee. He is an honorary member of the former chairman and vice-chairman of the Tax Commission of AIJA (Association Internationale des Jeunes Avocats). Gerd is named as 'notable professional' in the Chambers HNW Band 1 rankings of 2017 . Gerd is named by Who's Who Legal 2017 as a leading global professional in the field of private clients.
