Daniel Simon
Biography
Daniel is a member of our Tax and Estate Planning team. For 21 years he has advised on all aspects of UK and offshore tax, trust and estate planning and charity law. In recent years, Daniel has particularly specialised in UK and US planning as well as providing Swiss, French, Italian and Indian cross border advice. He recently advised on a tax efficient estate plan, including wills, for a UK/US couple with dual national children and assets in 3 jurisdictions. The work required his UK, US and French expertise. Daniel’s daily work includes the drafting of LPA’s, wills, trusts and innovative estate plans. He recently drafted a tax efficient will trust to pass assets to spouse and children, with a potential saving of many millions of pounds, subsequently acting as executor and administering the estate. Last year Daniel resolved a potentially contentious probate arising from an out of date will, with a simple deed of variation, to give effect to the testator’s true wishes. Daniel strives to find creative yet practical solutions to his clients’ wide ranging concerns. He travels regularly to Switzerland, New York and further afield to advise his clients. Daniel is a member of the International Bar Association (IBA) and the Charity Law Association (CLA). He is an Individual Tax and Private Client Committee officer and a frequent speaker at the IBA.
