Biography

Richard is a former London law firm partner. In 2011 he suffered serious mental illness. He is now a leading campaigner and champion for mental health in the workplace. With leading workplace consultancy Byrne Dean he delivers training and strategic support to organisations worldwide. He runs the Mindful Business Charter, a global community of employer organisations looking to reduce the stress in the ways we work so as to promote healthier and more effective ways of working. He chairs the Lord Mayor of London's This is Me campaign which uses story telling to reduce the stigma associated with mental illness. He is a qualified coach and Mental Health First Aid instructor and in 2018 published his memoir of his experience of mental illness and recover - This Too Will Pass - Anxiety in a professional world.
