Alan Hartman
Biography
Alan Hartman has over 25 years of investment banking experience, having advised on many of the transactions that have helped transform the healthcare sector over that time. Over the course of his career, Mr. Hartman has advised on over $700 billion of transactions, and has established himself as a leading advisor in the healthcare industry. He has advised in some of the largest and most complex transactions across every aspect of the industry. His clients have included pharmaceutical companies including Pfizer, Merck, Novartis, Mylan, Salix and Astra Zeneca, biotech companies such as Avexis, Biogen, Celgene, Onyx, OSI, Pharmacyclics, Intermune and Receptos, healthcare services companies including HCA, Omnicare, Quest Diagnostics and Amerisource Bergen, as well as retailer Wallgreens Boots Alliance and healthcare REIT Ventas. Mr. Hartman joined Centerview in 2009 after 16 years at Merrill Lynch, where he was head of Americas Mergers & Acquisitions. He received a BS in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a JD from Harvard Law School. He spent four years as a corporate attorney at Skadden Arps prior to joining Merrill Lynch. A strong and active supporter of non-profit organizations, Mr. Hartman serves on a number of boards, including Weill Cornell Medicine, The NY Chapter of The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, The Nantucket Hospital Finance Committee and The National Advisory Board of the Sean Parker Center for Allergy Research at Stanford University. He is married with three children.
